Vanessa Rastberger has served as the Director of Workforce Solutions at the Manufacturing Skills Institute (MSI), the workforce affiliate of the Virginia Manufacturers Association (VMA) and the Virginia Dream It. Do It. affiliate (DIDIVA). She has been an integral part of MSI’s statewide and national expansion and managed partner development through the MSI Academic and Workforce Partner Network that included Community Colleges, Middle Schools, High Schools, Workforce Training Centers, Libraries, Vocational Rehabilitation Training Centers, One Stop Centers, Universities, Technical Centers, Government Agencies, Trade Associations, Economic Development organizations and many nonprofits. She directed activities to educate and elevate the image of manufacturing occupations and increase the pool of qualified workers through MSI nationally-recognized industry credentials and increase access to career pathways in modern manufacturing.Prior to working at MSI, Vanessa worked in the Workforce Services Division of the Virginia Community College System office for nearly five years. She has over fifteen years’ experience in the private, public and nonprofit sector working in business and workforce development. In addition to working at the state level, she worked at the local level when she served as Program Manager for the Resource Workforce Investment Board office, located in Richmond. Vanessa holds a Bachelors of Arts in International Relations and Political Science from Randolph-Macon College, a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, and is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
