While women make up nearly half of the U.S. labor force, they represent only 28.6% of the manufacturing labor force.
In the automotive manufacturing sector, women represent 23.6% of the workforce- less than a quarter of the automotive manufacturing workforce.
Despite the impact COVID has had on the sector, automotive manufacturers are engaged in considerable efforts aimed at retaining, developing, and advancing the current and future generations of female automotive manufacturers.
The Manufacturing Institute’s STEP Forward program, an integral part of the Institute’s STEP Women’s Initiative, provides women in manufacturing with an opportunity to hear from industry leaders, connect with their peers in the industry and learn best practices they can bring back to their company.
Hosted by the Manufacturing Institute, this informative, thought-provoking session will feature workforce leaders at the forefront of shaping and leading efforts towards advancing women in automotive manufacturing including:
